Top 5 Smartphones under Rs. 15,000 (April 2016)
Xiaomi is back and what a comeback. One of the most talked about companies in the Indian smartphone scene, took its time and came up with a very good phone, the Redmi Note 3. The phone trumps everything when it comes to performance, even phones which cost atleast Rs. 30,000. The battery is more than commendable at 4000mAh and offering at least 12 hours of usage on a single charge. The 16MP rear camera might not be the best but it takes good pictures nevertheless. However, at Rs. 11,999 you are still getting the best deal for a budget smartphone.
Lenovo Vibe K4 Note
This year Lenovo launched the successor to the K3 Note conveniently calling it the Vibe K4 Note. One can certainly see the design reference taken from Motorola phones, with its slightly curved back. The performance is handled by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC which is able to handle almost all tasks with ease. The performance is further enhanced by the 3GB RAM which is able to provide better multi tasking. The phone features a 32GB internal storage and can be further expanded via a microSD card. There is a 13MP camera at the rear and the phone does feature a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Coolpad Note 3
Coolpad Note 3 is a very good performer for its price and by that we mean you won’t go wrong with this phone when buying a phone under a budget of Rs. 10,000. That said, it still good enough to be considered under the Rs. 15,000 phones price bracket. Featuring an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC and 3GB of RAM inside, the phone is able to churn out a very good performance. The Meizu M2 Note also uses the same SoC but it slightly better optimised and hence it is placed a step above. However, the Coolpad Note 3 scores points on the superfast fingerprint sensor and an astoundingly good battery which is able to last more than 10 hour on a single charge.
Honor 5X
The Honor 5X is the successor to the previous Honor 4X smartphone. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD resolution which offers good viewing angles. Powered by the relatively new Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC, the phone boasts a reliable performance. There is little to complain about the build and design as it has a metal unibody build with nice clean design and it also boasts a very good rear camera, thanks to the Sony Sensor. The 3000mAh battery also does a decent job and is able to last a day’s worth of usage easily.
LeEco Le 1S
Another phone which caught everyone’s attention is the Le 1s from Le Eco. Powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 SoC, the Le 1S is easily one of the most powerful phones currently available under the budget of Rs. 15,000. There is 3GB of RAM and an ample storage of 32GB. The phone is further complimented by its clean candy bar design and metal unibody. The 5.5-inch FHD display is good and the rear 13MP shooter takes fairly decent images. The only thing the phone lacks is a good battery life, which is not at par to the good performance.
