The new top model from HTC was presented on 12 April, 2016, and is now available for preorder. But the roughly $750 phone will not see delivery until mid-May 2016. Fabian Nappenbach, HTC's product director for Central Europe, told us in an interview at the launch event that there would be no exclusivity when it came to presales. The HTC 10 will thus be widely available from then on, in unlocked and carrier-branded variants. Also, there will be no exclusivity when it comes to the three color variants. The gray, silver and golden versions will be available to all on the open market and through carriers.

Xiaomi Mi 5 to be available via open sale from 4 May

Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 5 smartphone will now be available via an open sale on May 4 in India. In addition, 20000mAh power banks will also be available via the company website, without registrations. Xiaomi had launched its flagship Mi 5 smartphone in India at an event held in New Delhi. The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 24,999. With the launch, India has become one of the first markets to get the Xiaomi Mi 5 outside China. Xiaomi Mi Protect plans for India start at Rs 499 and will safeguard against accidental damage for a year as well. In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 5 borrows a lot of elements from its Mi Note series phones. It sports a 5.15-inch Full HD display with a pixel density of 428ppi. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with the custom Kryo cores in a quad-core set up. Handling the graphics will be the Adreno 530 GPU. It also includes a front-facing fingerprint scanner.

HTC One A9

The HTC One A9 is an Android smartphone manufactured and marketed by HTC. It was officially announced on October 20, 2015. It is the successor to the One M9 in the United States; but in global markets, it was sold alongside the One M9 as a mid-range offering. It was launched as an effort to improve the revenue of HTC's smartphone business after the failure of the One M9. It features a unibody aluminum frame with a Super AMOLED HD display and Dolby Surround sound for headphones. It also features a fingerprint sensor which can be used to unlock the phone. It is the first non-Nexus device to be pre-installed with Android Marshmallow and the first non-CDMA phone that is compatible to work with the Verizon network in the United States.
